What have I learnt in 21 years: 21 lessons.

1. Give your time to the people who really are there for you, you want cheer leaders in your life so you want to laugh and cry with them through all the important and not so important moments. The people who love you will turn up for big moments and little moments. Return the favour.

2. You can either match energy, lowering or raising the stakes it’s your move. It generally always more fun to match it or take it to the next level. Other people will bounce off this energy, it’s fun.

3. Star signs are fun to read and learn about, I feel I really take after mine. It’s also okay if you don’t resemble parts of it and you do not need to live your life aspiring to be the perfect Libra or savvy Sagittarius.

4. The best things are often unplanned so go with the flow and embrace the change and the madness, if the plan doesn’t go then that’s okay as long as it’s not life or death (mainly death).

5. Things can always be remedied, no matter how bad, as long as it’s not death.

6. Stop chasing people and you’ll come to see who’s really there for you.

7. Don’t comment on people’s appearance unless they look nice, praise here only please. We don’t do negative mindsets.

8. Don’t be overly generous on people you’ve just met on a night out, they won’t remember you in the morning.

9. Love generously. Give generously. Talk openly. Boundaries are key.

10. It can be their dream and not yours.

11. You will meet people in the most random of places, often at an unexpected time or when you are not looking for people.

12. Embrace hobbies and do things not just for financial gain. The value this adds to your life is unparalleled.

13. You can't use love as leverage.

14. Some of the most important relationships in your life are not romantic.

15. Pay people back without asking.

16. People love flowers and getting letters.

17. Walking is a great form of exercise.

18. Try (mostly) everything once.

19. There will always be people more qualified and less qualified than you, believe in yourself and apply anyway.

20. You don’t have to do it in a rude way but it’s good to challenge bad behaviour and derogatory speech, you don’t want people to think they are your views.

21. Live shamelessly. You only get one shot round the sun.

Because in the end we cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.
