Twenty: good gifts

What are some of the best gifts I have ever received. I can list a few right here and now. A stand out one has to be a pad of w h smiths lined paper, with wait for it .. coloured lines. This was a game change. It made writing just a smidge more fun and I could always tell my work apart from other peoples (student hack guys). I never needed them for university, all this is digital now so there’s no need to worry. A family member was very generous with gifting, but I don’t think she’ll know quite how much I valued this. And how many times I went back and bought more. It got me into a good study habit. Another note on this would be don’t bother buying much stationary for university unless you think you’ll definitely use it.

Another stellar piece has always been bic or zebra biros. This is not a love letter to stationary, they’re simply very practical. I was firmly an ink pen uni ball girl until year ten, when I learned it’s quantity before quality in terms of pens when you have handwriting the size of mine (big) (also like my boobs).

Fluffy socks. I love them, even if they make my feet smell. Joules fluffy socks are the elite and forever will be. They also make a really nice gift. Also random but Posca pens, they’re fun and bright and what more could you ask for from a gift. Who doesn’t like doodling?

An anchor power bank was a gift to myself so I’m not sure it quite classes as a ‘gift’ per se. I promise it’s a life saver, you or someone you’re with always needs a power bank. The charge lasts forever take note. A speedy charge plug from anchor is also another life saver when you’re in a time crunch.

Being gifted Charlotte Tilbury Happikiss has been a turnaround moment in my use of lipstick. I am not typically a lip stick person. I like lip gloss but I always loose them, and often they are too sticky. This is the perfect mid way combination and is also light enough to moisturise and nourish. A winner in my eyes.

Dolly Adlerton, everything I know about love. This book is the most beautifully written ode to being 20 I have witnessed. From this also watch the TV series on BBC iplayer. The verses validate the feelings of being lost, chaotic and excited all at the age of 20.
