Honest purchases.

It’s the little things that make all the difference. I can confirm the phrase is true to form and it is indeed the smallest things which can have the biggest impacts on your health and happiness - and a big key to being healthy is being happy. Some of these are from well trodden paths so apologies if you’ve heard them before, but there’s never any harm in reiteration.

Keeping a wellness diary. Last year I was given a diary in mid January for free by a very desperate paper chase employee hoping to get rid of an annoying amount of date paper compiling in the stock room. I was quite depressed at the time, that’s a fair statement. So I set about writing down what I enjoyed each day, just quick bullet points. Looking back you can see the year got a whole lot better, it’s nice to have a record of progress and it makes you appreciate the smaller things.

In a moment of madness I bought a sketch book. I’m not particularly arty but I like scribbling and having something which doesn’t have a material gain purpose unlike most other aspects of my life. It’s become a sketchbook, a photo album and a testament to the year. Pink pig are the top tier ones, better bought from an independent art shop.

Journaling. I have a notes page on the phone dedicated to rants and indecision when I can’t quite make up my mind or mums unavailable. Use it as your space to unload and unpack, it will save your sanity.

Podcasts, particularly Anna Archer or GK Barry. Both opposite ends of the scale but equally entertaining and will make you have a good laugh or think hard. Pop one on when you’re walking between places or in transit.

It’s not an extensive list but I wouldn’t recommend anything not achievable or not worth it. Happy upgrading.
