Life upgrades: Flicks to watch

Flicks are hard to come by when you’re in a mood to watch something good, there’s a lot out there I find the choice can be overwhelming. Here’s a class selection that’s generally on Netflix, that are about life and just oh so satisfying, some will make you cry and some will make you laugh and that’s okay.

Endless Love. A love story set to a beautiful sound track. It’s a nice reminder to embrace the movement and joy and beauty of being young. Youth is exciting so enjoy it kind of motto.

The fuck it list. A cheesy and badly rated production in the humble opinion of rotten tomatoes. I like it because sometimes you need something so cringey it makes your toes curl but in a good way. Nice mantra to again seize life, can you see there’s a pattern here.

Do revenge. Stylish and beautifully curated to make it a great flick. It’s the right amount of evil and pure beastly ness to make it irresistible. Ignore the haters.

Everything I know about love. I will preach about this book till my dying day, watch the TV series and do yourself a favour. It’s a delight and mirrors beautifully the falls and troughs and chaos of the twenties.

Love actually. I successfully avoided this travesty for 21 years, believing it was beyond cringe. It is not. I apologise for all my failures. The film is everything you want to see behind the scenes of love and loss and hope and pretending and reconcile. I love the notion love is all around us at Heathrow arrivals gate. One day I hope to experience the love of someone at the arrivals gate.

Parasite. Masterful creation and dark and twisted. If you’ve not watched it by now then get on it.

Honourable mentions go to One Day, Instant Family, Lady Chatterley's lover, You Again and Me Before You.

These are my comfort films.
